Betsy, you had a great run with the foliage! Thanks for sharing all, and congratulations on the blue border..!

Down here in the Mid-Cape area it seems yesterday we hit our stride color-wise. Finally had enough cool nites to get color.

Heidrun: You are right about the sadness. The first cold day I find myself resenting the chill, the need for warmer clothing, the cold feet and hands. But, I adjust after a week or so. I'd better, in northern New England!

Love the composition - a little sadness is creeping in - the lush beauty of Autumn seems to have said good bye !

Thanks, Approver, for putting this in Weather, recognizing that my mention of cold and wind meant Weather.

Yes, it seems to be. We had that day when I hiked in the rain (Wed.), and that seems to have killed it.

About luvne32

Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as FOUNTAINS OF LIFE. ------ John Muir
