Thanks Steve & Marijka.
After the sunset we drove to the south end of the island looking for deer on the soccer field/school grounds and saw 3 but they did not hang around long and the lighting was not good so we went back up toward latitude 31 and they were crossing the road, grazing in yards, not so scared AND the lighting was better.
