Tok, AK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Around 4:30 Christmas morning, I heard Santa laughing outdoors in the night, so out I dashed to see what was the matter. What to my wondering eyes should appear, but these amazing Christmas lights! I think Santa was laughing at my foolishness for being out goggling a the skies at 50 below zero, but I saw neither hide nor hair of him.... just heard him laughing!

Incredible, how beautiful those colors are. I finally understand what causes the color, saw it on Public Television.

BEST WISHES FOR A GOOD NEW YEAR, Katy!

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
