Very nice work, Katy.

It isn't often one gets the opportunity
to capture a star.

Congratulations on your AC.

Thank you Dorothy, a song about a precious, fleeting life, not unlike the tiny fleeting 'life' of a single snowflake.

i know, Katy, but my mind was on bigger things; if i were in the mountains and the snow all the time, no doubt i'd have different focus; mind over matter/matter over mind?

Maybe you'll get another this year Duane...

Does it look to you like it's center is raised? Like it's not a flat snowflake? I thought it's center looked 3 dimensional, like it has prongs sticking up.

Thank you Mara, Charlotte and Lisa!

Mara it doesn't take any more time to shoot a snowflake than it does to shoot a mountain! :D

Thank you Donna, you popped in while I was yakking!

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
