Burney, CA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: that's not a reflection in the window, it's the roof! fortunately no one was working when this happened. Burney (23 miles west of us)has had even more snow than we've had - 4 feet! and, it's a wet heavy snow - temps hovering right at freezing - down a little, up a little.

See comment on other photo. It was a great store. I can't believe how much neat stuff they stocked. Hovis ACE Hardware in Burney was even better. We used to wait for a trip to the Intermountain area to buy things that we just couldn't find in the great big CIVILIZED stores of the Bay Area!

EXAMPLE: I wanted a particular can crusher. I could only find one style in the Bay Area; I did an extensive phone search. I went up to Burney later that summer, stopped by Hovis for some RV supplies; Hovis had four different models to choose from! One of them is screwed to the wall on our side entrance 25 years later. Of course, now days, I could probably find 6 models on Amazon. But I still would miss Burney.

NEAT, GREAT PHOTOS, NOSTALGIA. I just gotta get back up there.
