wow... what a great shot. Love the details of the feathers. I never knew birds would bury their heads like that, but I guess if its cold enough. They are so small and fragile I don't know how they make it.

Wonderful. You are putting your Nikon to good use.

PS and you even caught the frost!

About gardner48197
gardner48197 4/2013: Greetings from Michigan, where we get a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! I originally found this site for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon L120/P520, which has helped photography become my favorite hobby! I have always loved the outdoors, and now I have a perfect excuse to get out and explore nature! What a great community here, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
