Nearly two feet of snow has fallen in the woods. The winds are gusting at 50 mph. I'm glad to be inside! :)

It's a lovely photo!
Pat
Pat, we're practically neighbors. :) Happy New Year to you and yours!!
Claire, I wish you and your dear family a Very Happy New Year too!!!!
Yes, we are faithfully feeding the birds several times a day. We have crows, doves, blue jays, and a flock of 17 wild turkeys on our land desperate for food in these extremely cold temperatures. At this moment (7:04 p.m., Jan. 2) it is 5.2 degrees. We enjoy watching the wildlife and feel it is our responsibility to help them out. We (all people) who live in the woods are living in what was their territory, so we enjoy helping them when the snow is too deep for them to forage. Thanks for asking about the birds, and I hope everyone will feed the wild birds in the coldest days of winter. We give them bird seed, sunflower seeds, suet, and peanuts.....the jays love them! :)
