Caption: I think this is a yellow-shafted flicker. He's trying to feed from a feeder that's much too small.

WOW! What a great capture!
As if he is actually posing
for you - but I know he is
not - busy moving every
second! Great catch!

About backwardguy

backwardguy

My wife of 42 years and I live in Hermiston OR. on a 5 acre "farmette". I was an elementary school teacher for 29years. I retired at the end of June 2015 and have been working hard ever since!. I enjoy the outdoors and animals and I'm an avid (not a good) golfer. My wife and I take our motorcycles on long trips and our destinations are almost always the beautiful National parks in Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Utah, and last summer we added Arizona to the list. Photography has long been an interest of mine and many of my photos are taken on our little farmette, and on our motorcycle trips.
