Love this and the series Lori. We recently went to a Agriculture Plantation Museum and they had one of these old pumps inside the museum and it actually pumped water. That was the first time since I was a child that I've pumped water from one of those. Gotta get me one :)

the house does have real running water now. The electricity was brought in in 1944. That must have been a HUGE deal. The old fixtures, knobs, wainscoting, wallpaper and old linoleum tells the story of upgrades along the way.
