THANK YOU ALL! AND THANK YOU APPROVERS FOR THIS AC! I don't use any protection when looking through the view finder, The thin clouds and haze was my filter. This camera has a 50X optical plus digital zoom up to another 150X. It comes out black do to the Bright Sun. I Use AUTO settings. The camera decides! I don't take only one shot! I can take up to 40 shots with all zoom settings, etc. during a Sunrise. Now that you know all my secretes I will send you all a BILL! {:>)

What kind of eye protection do you use when taking direct sun photos?

Wow, your pictures look like NASA'S sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov, sun images, how do you do it with only a 215.0 mm zoom and no filter, how do you black out the sky?
