The undersides of the wing and tail feathers are bright yellow,in the yellow-shafted or red, in the red-shafted birds.
Its most visible when they fly.

Gorgeous shot Ralph! These birds are usually quite wary and difficult to photograph.

I have often wondered where the "yellow shaft" is.
Anyone know?
Beautiful, Ralph.
