Islands In The Snow

Dillon Reservoir, CO

Caption: A different part of Dillon Reservoir, where the islands are, although now they are locked in ice and snow. The herringbone pattern covered the whole lake, as you can see. The one cloud, upper right, looks like a ceiling fan, not that they need that. There was a cool breeze, but not too bad. Some of the snow looks kind of dirty, so the winds must have brought in dust. We sure got plenty of dust in the wind we got at the farm.

Thank you, Heidrun! That Sahara dust could be seen
from space! There was a rain shower when we had
the dust blowing over near the farm and we were in
my car. It literally rained car was a mess!
Oh, well..not a thing we can do about it...except wash
the car.:-)

Another wonderful view of Dillon Reservoir with the green islands dotting the herringbone lake surface!
There are some redddish dust drifts on the white , too - but at least the sky is blue and beautiful with its white clouds and not hazy as we got for a week from the Sahara Dust covering big parts of Austria!
