Redstone, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Crystal River flows through a canyon from the bottom of McClure Pass, past Redstone, and about halfway between Redstone and Carbondale, and then flows into Carbondale where it joins the Roaring Fork River, which then travels on and joins the Colorado River in Glenwood Springs. The walls of the canyon are made of beautiful red rock which can be flat like this or form various interesting formations. It's an interesting drive.

Thanks, Heidrun! I love all the tough plants that
can grow out of solid rock. All it takes is
enough dirt to get caught in the crevice on the
rock face, a seed and the will to survive!

The red rock wall looks beautiful with the little tufts of green growing out of its nooks and crannies !
Another beauty in this great series, Kat !

Very wonderful, and I like the color of the rocks. I see the Elephant also.
