Littleton, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: At this point, the flakes were tiny and the wind was making it come in sideways. You can see a couple of the tiny flakes on this pretty guy. The birds have been very busy here today! Luckily I bought extra seed after hearing our forecast. The house finches just got back a couple days ago. Bet they wish they had waited a bit!

To answer your question, they come to Arizona for the winter. :)

Thank you, Maria and Dave. I don't know where
they go, Maria. I just don't see them very
often in Winter, but they are here every day
the rest of the year. Some show up in Winter,
but they are not here all the time.

Hi, beautiful house finch and photo. Where do they go for the winter? I have had House Finches all winter long, they never left. Why go? They have plenty of food at my feeders, and lots of sheltered area for refuge on a cold day.

I know! I want to knit tiny little bird
sweaters when I see them out there in the
cold wind. All I can do is make sure they
have plenty of seed! Thanks, Gene!
