Somerset, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I headed home from the farm to the Denver side of the mountains. Just past Somerset, you can see the ice forming on the sides of the North Fork of the Gunnison, which runs next to the highway for quite a way, crossing from one side to the other several times.

Congratulations on your adventurous photo-taking A/C shot[s] Kat!!! This looks like my kind of place for rock-hounding,and enjoying the water sounds, watching it roll on by,,and smelling the sage and cedars...and other wild botanicals with their spicey aromas!!! Awesome series!!!:))

It gets pretty cold in the mountains at night this
time of year. It was fairly mild as I took
pictures, at least at this spot. When I got up on
McClure Pass, it was windy and I almost just got
back in the car without taking a shot! Almost.
Thanks, Heidrun!

Such a pretty bend in the river !
Must be fairly cold for the ice to form on flowing water !
