Taken from McClure Pass, which is 8,763 feet at it's summit, you can see a big peak, all above tree-line, just sticking up past a couple smaller peaks. Treeline in Colorado varies between 11,000 and 12,000 feet. The big, snow covered ones in the last picture are all 13,000+ to 14,000+ feet. Colorado has 55 mountains that are 14,000 feet or higher. They are called the Fourteeners. There are over 800 peaks that are 11,000 feet or higher.
