Pilot Mountain, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I call this area the stairs because of the large areas of layered rock, augmented by constructed stairs as you see in the foreground. Overhung by cliffs, it is a favorite area for picnics and campfires, though this is frowned on by the rangers, as other areas are provided for those activities.

Just beautiful! I adore the rocks, and the natural color-coordinated trees-- with the autumn colors peaking out!

I like the light on the rock face, and the colors. Nice rock shot.

That it is, Julie, and by the time I've hiked 3/4 of the way around the mountain, I'm usually ready to sit a spell anyway. Thanks for commenting!
