Westfield, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: A new lot arrived on Monday, and I just got around to photographing them now. The dark, chipmunk-striped ones are Araucanas, the so-called 'Easter egg chicken,' because they lay colored eggs. In the past we've had turquoise, olive, and cream-colored eggs from these.

LOL Julie! I don't name any of mine, because sooner or later even the laying hens will go into the soup pot. However, they should have a good life here for a good long time. Thanks for commenting!

Thank you, Shirley! I'm keeping these separate from the older chickens until they get settled in a bit.
