Galveston, TX (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: There were some very colorful houses in the middle of town; we found this ourselves before we ever went on tour. If you look closely, you'll notice that only the front has been painted this color.

Neat shot, it reminds me of a child's doll house on a large scale of course. They were painting a house in Aberdeen SD in several colors, an old one like this, and it looked nice. Glad you had a fun trip. Take care.We are in the midst of a winter storm so colors like this make it a brighter day.

There are national flags displayed on the second floor (and first floor also). The upstairs flag may be a clue to the choice of colors. I suspect owners who have been on one of the Caribbean Island nations, myself. Homes and other properties damaged during hurricane "IKE" qualified for funds for rebuilding. My wife and I have a favorite restaurant, on the beach near the Moody Gardens, that we frequent on special dates. Neat photo, thank you. We live about 30 miles from Galveston Island. Galveston hosts a yearly "Mardi Gras" that is quite lively !

Maybe Mickey and Minnie's house - They
definitely have a theme going there.
Nice shot - Thanks for sharing and
putting a little color in our life.

Thanks for your comments, Katy, Chrissy, and Betsy! It would make me smile too, even if it were painted thus on all four sides. I think I could live with that! We saw several houses that were painted bright colors like this, and a whole lot more that were in pleasant pastel colors.

Oh my! Indeed it is so, only the front is painted this way.

For all it's 'unconventional' colors, it's very pretty! Makes the house next door look... drab!
