A pothole dug by the dogs in my yard, and grown over, fills with rain. We've had at least six inches since Monday; help! We're about to float away!

Amazing that you've had all that rain. Here in Augusta, GA (not all that far from you) we've been begging for it--for years. We were 16 inches below normal in 2010, 15 inches below normal in 2011, and 8 inches below normal in 2012. That's almost 40 inches below normal over the past 3 years. This New Year ain't lookin' too promising either: less than 1/3 of an inch so far--and this is supposed to be our "rainy season." No wonder my water bill's $275/month in the summer. Gr-r-r-r-r-r-r!

Wish things were more even, Al! We were short of rainfall last year, but have had nearly 8" so far this year, most of it since Monday. My yard is squishy underfoot!

We don't have a water bill as we did when we lived in town; we have a well and pay only for the electricity to run it (not to mention repairs and amortization on the well itself). I've wrestled with the city over water bills too, not to mention watering restrictions in dry years, before we moved out here. There are advantages and disadvantages everywhere a person could live.

It's green, not white!

Hi Betsy! Yeah, it was green that day, but white the next! Now, back to green again, and the water has all drained away... Thanks for adding your comment!
