Pilot Mountain, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Closeup of the big dome of Pilot Mountain. There is a path nearly a mile long around the base, but no one is allowed to climb the nearly vertical sides; too many have fallen to their deaths. The dark spots in the sky are not dirt specks but are birds, either ravens or vultures, that continually circle the dome.

Thank you, Boaz; I hope you get a chance to visit the area some time! (Just not in the middle of a hurricane like right now, though, LOL!)

I hope there will be some leaves left on the trees, Linda! The winds from Hurricane Sandy are whipping them off at a great rate right now!
