This morning we had a 20% chance of freezing precip...then changed to 60% chance...I think it was more like 100%, lol. We only got maybe two inches. That is Pat, the Newport School Resourse Officer in front of us. The school waited until 2 pm to let school out...should have done it sooner but they didn't ask my opinion :)

I was right behind the school bus on the way home. I almost slid past my turn coming in to Jacksonport. I agree, it was too slick and they should have sent them home earlier, someone said they kept them until 2:00 so they could count it as a whole school day.

Thanks Sis for the comment and yes, they have
to keep them until 2 pm to count the day. It
use to be just until they ate lunch. Counting
that day isn't worth it with those kids lives
at risk because of any accidents.

Great shot, and I agree with you on the kids not being sent home earlier. This stuff can and has become an emergency around here many times, so I'm sure it's even more noticeable in your area, not used to seeing much for snow.

You don't understand, letting school out too early cost the district MONEY!! AND, they may have to make up a day sometime later in the school year. We can't be taking chances with our FUNDING or messing up the school year schedules now can we?? Just to be sure kids get home safe?? What the heck are we thinking about??
