That mountain is Sugarloaf Mountain in the city limits of Heber Springs. There is also a Sugarloaf Mountain that is out in the middle of Greers Ferry Lake. I'm not a climber, or hiker, and don't walk a lot...but I took off work and went looking for Fall colors and had this bright idea that I was going to go up that mountain a ways. The further I got, the more I said I can do it, lol. I didn't take a pic of the map at the entrance, but remember it said "round" trip. I thought that meant the trail would go aroun the mountain and bring me back to my car. It didn't! I sould have came back down the way I went up, lol. I didn't get all the way up on top, but I did get to the base of the rock. Then, I ended up at the bottom on the other side of the mountain. Just a warning, don't ask me for any directions, hehe. I didn't see any snakes, but I did have a deer to snort and blow at me and when it did, it caught me off guard and I screamed out loud. Scared me and the deer. That is Arkansas State University - Heber at the base of the Mountain.

I have a navigation system in my car and am thinking about for one for hiking, as sense of directions are limited to up and down.

That story is too funny, Nita and I had fun laughing at your phone calls updating us on where you were and what you were doing. I'm glad you didn't run into any bears. lol
