Bamboo groves are found behind Tenryuji Temple and along the trail to the Okochi Sanso. The bamboo is still used to manufacture various products, such as baskets, cups, boxes, mats and pieces of art at workshops in the Arashiyama area.

It is so different from the forest I am used to. I like your receding perspective, the exposure, and composition. A Favorite.

Great camera work - beautiful capture. I find bamboo hard to capture the real look on camera that the eye sees in real time. Congratulations on AC!

Wow! Fantastic shot & series. I did not know that Bamboo got this big. We learn something new each day don't we?
Just built some railings for my 2 porches. By the looks of this fence, I should have had you send me that Bamboo to use on my porch!

Thank you much for the Photos from Japan on this & your other series.
Congratulations on this AC!

Superb capture, congrats on the blue border. Just out of interest, how thick would you say those bamboo canes were?
