Thanks! Glad you like it. I like bringing out the detail in the dark steam locomotives, which otherwise are pretty much shades of black and dark back, but I can understand the dislike of HDR which is often done in excess. Thanks mods for the AC vote!

Another vote of the non-HDR It is the excessive detail in the background that makes the difference for me. The human eye doesn't see all the detail "in the wild". I find it distracting. In your photograph is is not as distracting as in the work of other photographers.

Thanks. Great picture. Now if I can just learn to type better!!!

They are both beautiful! As a fan of 'au naturel' I still can't say which I like better, BOTH are very well done.

To me this is more natural looking so I prefer this one, and I still miss steam engines, no diesel has the powerful chug, whistle and might of them no matter how hard they try,

About tamcat

tamcat

My name is Kevin N. Weinhold, and somehow I ended up posting photos on an account with my wife's nickname (sorry for any confusion!). I used to think that photos were too two-dimensional, not really capturing the real person or scene, but now I understand why: without God we are all two-dimensional, but there is a much richer world behind those photos. I hope you find something in my photos beyond my view of God's creation; I'm looking forward to seeing your photos, too!
