Thanks Mindi! I'm glad I can encourage you to take snowflake photos too. I hope you see some more nice ones; some of those in your photos look pretty fancy. I'm just getting rain now, probably ice later, and maybe see some snow in the morning.

SEE KEVIN!! You did your 'good sam' deed of the day,,giving away fine jewelry such as this!!!! I was just noting how some of your shapes were similar to some in mine,,,pretty neat!!!! Well,it snowed this afternoon, but nothing like these,,mostly unorganized bits of fluff,,darn,,,maybe tomorrow!!! you are really starting to get me hooked!!! Mostly,I'm just trying to catch some for sketch reference, and ideas for REAL jewelry!!! Excellent series,as always!! But,you never grow tired of hearing that would you??!!! Keep up the great snaps, but please don't get too cold,,we like you thawed out,not frozen!!!!:)

Even though I dislike cold weather....I am jealous of your jewelry and could claim a few. I'm not too flashy.

Thanks. It does have somewhat of a painted look due to the low light available. I am excited to find some snowflakes while it is lighter out (maybe this weekend) so that I can get some better photographs. So far, the conditions have not been very ideal, so I have not been able to really test out my new setup. I like the "3D" appearance, which is what my goal is currently. (Snowflakes on glass are nice but they are 2D at best).

A neat shot Kevin! I will claim it since we have no snow or ice here in S Florida and I need to cool down my ice tea!

Thanks very much! :) Actually the consistency was rather much like lint until nightfall when a few well-formed snowflakes fell. I had to get out my 500 watt light stand and about froze, but it's always worth it. :)

I was sure you got some flakes last night. Tried but couldn't come close to this perfection. 10 from SW Iowa

About tamcat

tamcat

My name is Kevin N. Weinhold, and somehow I ended up posting photos on an account with my wife's nickname (sorry for any confusion!). I used to think that photos were too two-dimensional, not really capturing the real person or scene, but now I understand why: without God we are all two-dimensional, but there is a much richer world behind those photos. I hope you find something in my photos beyond my view of God's creation; I'm looking forward to seeing your photos, too!
