What fun, Susan! Using your window sill as the bird blind? Would love to have seen that - but this shot makes it all worth it. Very impressive!

He wouldn't be so brave if it was Thanksgiving day instead of St Patty's day ;) Great capture!

Ditto Hanna. What a handsome dude! I like this frontal shot with all his fluffed feathers symmetrically seen. If I were a female, I'd ---- (turkey, that is).

What a classic shot! I'd save this for making Thanksgiving Day Dinner invites (and/or place cards) for the family and friends!

yes Eileen..HEFTY is the word I would use too! the legs of these extremely large turkeys are probably as big around as my wrist..they have to weigh in at 40+ pounds..wish I could've caught them in flight..hard to believe such a large and heavy bird could fly into the treetops so easily! these wild birds are SO skittish that they are gone in a flash if they even suspect someone is around..I was fortunate to be able to snap these shots right through our dining room window with me poised BELOW the window so they couldn't see me at all..thanks for your comments :)

About suzi46

suzi46

Going from the Mt Washington Valley region of Maine/NH, all the way down to the "Horse Capital of the World, Marion County" in Central Florida in April 2014, was quite a change to say the least! Photo ops, in a totally new and intriguing area of this very large and varied state, are slowly presenting themselves to me as I adjust to this brand new environment and much warmer weather!! I look forward to this new photographic chapter of my life!
