on this first day of Winter..48 degrees, bright sunshine, rushing brooks due to an all day rain yesterday, still beautiful ice formations from our below zero temps of a few days ago, and bright, ice-trapped Autumn leaves..back to Winter tonight with light snow predicted as well as temps back down into the teens..just in time for Christmas!!

Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. The photo ops are virtually unlimited what with the surrounding working farms, dozens of lakes, ponds, and brooks, and thousands of acres of forest. Not to mention our own pond and brooks as well as extensive flower gardens, fruit bushes, vines, and trees. The views of Mt Washington and the Presidentials of NH only add to the drama! Not a bad place to be retired..and I am so glad I can share all of this with the wonderful folks on this great site..it has been a wonderful journey and learning experience thus far..and it's only getting better! |
