More winter birds have arrived! A small flock of seven Evening Grosbeak have been visiting my feeders for the last two days. We haven't had them in several years so this looks like it truly is an irruption year for them.

We have two left that so far refuse to fly wherever it is they fly to for the winter. We have a huge flock every year. Love these birds.

Great capture. During the summer we had about a dozen haning around the feeders. Still have one that hasn't left yet. Great birds, but I'm always surprised how our Annas humming birds make more noise than they do.

Thank you all for your comments! They are more common out west and in Canada so it's a real treat to see them here in western New York this year.

We used to have many of these in NH, but they are more rare now. Habitat loss, probably. We miss them. They are so colorful and obvious, for our enjoyment.
