Salem, SC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This tunnel was build in the mid 1800's. The plan was for trains to run between SC and IL. It never was finished. Recently it was found that at its constant 58 degree temp.,it was perfect for the mold to grow on Blue Cheese. Later Clemson University was able to duplicate the climate and moved the cheese to Clemson. You can see the mist coming out of the tunnel as the cool air meets with the outsied 84 degree temp.on this day.

About mellyweb

We live on a 10 acre farm in South Carolina with our animals -dogs,cats and 3 mini donkeys. Time for an update: I have now been on here for over two years, upgraded my camera twice and now use a NikonD90. I have seen this site and the photographers go through many changes and improvements, it is a wonderful place to share and view beautiful photos. Also, the contributors are some of the nicest folks around!! I continue to learn from all of you, thank you! a>Create your own visitor map
