While it was too cloudy in the west to see the close encounter of Venus and Saturn, a break in the clouds to the north revealed the big dipper. The telescope is one of many at the Etscorn Observatory on the campus of New Mexico Tech. This 35 second exposure 'x-ray' image was created by rotating the dome with the slit open and a red light on inside. Thanks to Dan Klinglesmith for his help in creating this shot!
