Thanks so much friends!

Quoting Nikongranny:
Guess I really don't understand this one, but it sure is pretty. Congrats and 10 from frozen SW Iowa.
Max these are tiny little frost shards that have covered every inch of our icy world one morning. If not for a warm spell and higher humidities, we probably would get this frost.

Quoting tazphotogal:
Katy---really would like to know how you got those images, with ice as nails? still really stumping me. :0) Karen
Karen I am using a macro lens, with a couple of extension tubes, and getting very close to the frost surfaces. I use a tripod and remote shutter also, to avoid camera shake. Geez this is fun!

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
