Thanks Sharon and Peter.

Peter this river does keep a channel all winter under the ice, but rivers smaller do freeze completely, with no water flowing until spring.

I do wonder about this year, very low water on this river. If we get a cold winter, (-60 to -70 for a few weeks or a month) will this river's channel go dry too? It'll be interesting to see, but I don't know how we'd know...

Neat image congrats on AC, does the river flow drop from here on as water becomes more solid upstream or is the flow constant?

Thank you Delana, Elaine, Rodney, Duane and Eileen.

You must be right about the snow colors Rodney, I hadn't noticed that. Must be a lighting thing.

Interesting how the horizontal surfaces have the icy blue color and the vertical snow is white. Appears to be related to the angle of the sun. Makes the image look even more chilly.
