Looks like a KY red-winged blackbird.

In Iowa he would be a red-winged blackbird. At least it looks like the same red markings and about the right size. They are feisty characters that nest in the weeds of roadside ditches and hay fields and will attack you if you get too near their nests. The females are dark brown with no red marks.
