So, So pretty and interesting. I have often wondered if these leaves have been stripped by insects earlier in the year, but I've never known for sure. Whatever makes this occur, it certainly leaves a beautiful interlacing pattern on the leaves! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for clarifying that, Liz! These must be the bracts of the flowers, taken close up. What most people would call petals, but I think they are actually bracts in this case. It kinda worries me when I can't identify something I feel I should know! ^)^

Thanks Kathy! These are former blooms from a hydrangea. Strange thing is that I have many different hydrangeas, but this is the only plant that has the blooms look this way.

Interesting skeletonized leaves, bracts, or petals, I can't make up my mind which. Not familiar with what kind of plant this may be, but in this form it sure is pretty, Liz!
