Beautiful shot Jack and love how you caught the snowflakes with the flash. Im not surprised to see that the true, kind, wonderful spirit of our WU community prevails! Laurelin needs to take her fictitious handle and go back to charm school! Such amazing and crazy weather this year!

Quoting sharong62:
Makes you feel like you are there! I heard on the news that you usually get rain! Didn't know it had been that long since you had snow! There are probably little kids there going "What is this stuff"? One for the history books!

Actually, this area gets an average of "Maybe" One inch of snow on day each year. Every once in a while, like this week we will get more.
So, yes, mostly rain, rain and more rain in the Seattle/Tacoma area is the norm.

Great job and keep 'em coming!

Great snow shot Jack! I experienced snow in Bremerton, WA once - all of about 2" & it shut things down, what most people don't realize is that there are very few snowplows in the region!!

Laurelin - Your comments are completely uncalled for! If you have an issue - send a private message!!

Congratulations on your AC for this great weather shot Jack!!

Excellent capture and congrats on the Big Blue.
That being said I submit more than one shot of
the same scene with my Nikon D-90 and the D-70
so what? if I was lucky enough too score 2 Big
Blues so be it and I would sit back with a big grin!!

The lighting is different, more snow, different cars, tree is heavier in this one, Christmas lights are not there, porch light isn’t on across the street, nor is the house lit up next to it, and even at slightly a different angle and the tree on the left has a completely different structure up front that cannot be explained by just a few hour and more snow difference..
And on that note, who really actually cares if it was a year ago or not, it is not a life or death situation. Jealous much?
Very fantastic shot!

I judged! Different photos! No Christmas lights in this one and a car instead of a truck. Lots of people take shots from the same vantage point to show the changing seasons, or rise in water, etc. I think you (Lauralin) owe him an apology!

I love this scene from your balcony Jack. Enjoy the fun snow event! Weather like this makes memories and life exciting.
I am sorry someone rained on the parade of happiness. I see the same scene ( ie; balcony scene) but shoot there are tons of subtle differences!!!
Look forward to seeing your special hummer photos... they are so fortunate to have a natural caretaker like you.
congrats on your AC !

Quoting Laurelin:

How nice for you, Jack, that you have managed to fool the approvers into giving you a second AC for this shot taken on the same evening as your photo dated a year ago! You didn't even bother to change your copyright date in your EXIF. I'm sure the approvers appreciate your cleverness!
what kind of sour-grapes are you??? If you bothered to look, that was on January 11th, whereas this is the 18th. If you put your glasses on, you will see that there ARE differences, like the cars etc. Sure, I took it from the same balcony... in that picture last year, was only an inch or so. And last years picture was actually a better photo and shot with a D5000, this years with a D7000. May I send you to Lenscrafters?

What a beautiful photo Jack!

I have been wondering about your hummers in this big weather event for you, hope they are sheltered. Many will surely perish in this storm, but perhaps the ones you protect and feed will come though just fine!

Will be watching for your photos, thanks for sharing.

Oh! And congratulations!
