There,,Cat-skills pegged it!!! This HAS to be a TOP TEN Cat-shot of all time!!!! Hope you go national with it!!! lol,,I was holding my breath, hoping you did'nt say that it fell into the ice and you had to rescue it,,,I'd have done it!,More like walking on thin ice for sure!! What a brave and daring soul,,and living on the edge of insanity!! Made my day!! Now,if only I culd get MY cats to look at this shot and explain to them, that if they insist on being too dang ornery, this COULD happen to them!!!!Maybe it would work,as I've told them until I'm blue in the face,,,they just refuse to listen!!!! A new favorite Alan!! thank you!!>@^@< Congratulations too!

Love this. This little critter looks just like the one sleeping under the wood stove in the other room here.

Congratulations on your AC!

Great photo, Alan! I love cats; they are so curious and independent. My kind of pet... (but ours get eaten-fishers, so we don't have a cat).

Cat On A Cold Thin --ROOF--. Tennessee Williams would turn over in his grave if sumbuddy did not take this pun and run with it. (The ice is the "roof" of the pond.)

Thanks everyone - this is Kitto, who is very skittish and cautious, but is completely unfazed by ice - even clear ice. He doesn't show any sign of concern that anything bad could happen, even though there was open water there the day before. He explores far beyond the range where I might rescue him, so I'll have to trust his judgement.

My other cat, Bella, who will walk right up to a hundred pound dog, knows she can go on the ice, but usually declines.
