About indianrivguy
indianrivguy Hi there! My name is Marty and in the picture I am portraying my Great Great Grandfather, Hannibal Dillingham Pierce in 1883 at Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge, Stuart, Florida. Built March 1876, it is the only remaining example of this unique to Florida Life Saving Station. Florida pioneer history is my passion and I spend a lot of time being involved presenting and preserving it. I have served on the Martin County Historic Preservation Board, and the Board of Directors for the Lake Worth Pioneers Association as their historian. I currently serve on the Trustee Advisory Committee at Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge, and the Board of Directors for Stuart Heritage Museum. I probably do 20 or more living history and PowerPoint presentations a year and have been part of two teams developing workbooks for the fourth grade school children here in Martin County. I am a serious Miami Dolphin football fan, and a hurricane junky. I very much appreciate Doctor Masters and his staff for providing me a place to learn and interact with others having the same interests. I have been astounded by the beauty and diversity of our world through seen through the eyes of all the photographers who generously share their images. Thank you one and all!
