thanks again everyone!! Julia, our elevation is 3500'.......this has been the longest cold spell we've had in the 20 years we've lived up here. add to that 2 feet of snow that just lingers on - well, it's frozen solid!!! ususally, we get snow and it melts within a week or so - not this time!! It's just plain COLD! I think Lori a I will have to be more careful what we wish for in the future :)) Seems there are lot of us in the area with frozen pipes! My son is under the house right now trying to check for broken pipes - we have no water in the kitchen, no hot water, and very little water in the other faucets. Lets hope the 'torpedo' can warm things up down there!!

Minus 10? Never experienced that in my lifetime. At the other end of the spectrum, we here in Augusta, GA, hit 81 degrees Saturday (Jan 12), which broke a 97-year-old record for the date.

I'm going to Katy's house!! LOL! thanks for all the nice comments and thanks mcleodglen for the ice danger warning. we don't let these icicles grow on all sides of the house - I can't get to these right now, no traffic, so we let them 'grow' but yes, they can be very dangerous - need to knock them all down!....thanks for the VIP

and, thanks for the AC!!
