In Auckland we get a few frosts, Greg - nothing serious. Further south, Queenstown in the South Island for example, the forecast for last night was -8C.

In the mountains it obviously gets a bit colder - they will have snow cover until the end of the year.

This is amazing and beyond beautiful, John! It
shows none of man's 'improvements', just beautiful
Nature. This is how the U.S. looked before we loaded
it up with concrete, steel and pavement. It makes
my heart happy to look at this shot! Thank you!
Note that I am not complaining...I love America!
It's just so cool to see this pristine view.
Congratulations on your AC!

When I watched The Lord Of The Rings movies I was amazed at the natural beauty of New Zealand. This photograph is very consistent with that. Outstanding shot.

Thanks Delana.

It was very hard to get a shot from the train. I would just get things lined up, and a tree or pole would get in the way; or the train would rock and the camera was pointing at the sky. I can't remember how many were shot to get this one image.
