Thanks to all for your kind and thoughtful comments. I'm just glad no lives were lost. Homes and cars can be replaced, but lives can't.

Powerful image! I assume it is from the news presentation in your area? Didn't see that you had a camera type or exif data.
That storm sure hit a huge area! Our little town of Murphy, NC had some damage and businesses lost with some houses gone but no lives were lost. How blessed we were!
Keep celebrating life, Debra

I know the image is small, but this really should be an Approvers Choice. What a powerful photo!

Looks like something straight out of a movie. Awesome shot! Makes you wonder how something can be so captivating and yet so ugly at the same time.

OMG, what a shot. Sending you all my prayers for the losses of life and property. What I've been seeing on TV scares the daylights out of me. God bless and stay safe.

Weather is sometimes beautiful to look at, as is this one, nature in full force! But the destruction that comes with this is not worth it. You took a great picture, hope all is well with you...it looks too close for comfort!

I have been following Dodsen Branch on the news. I am so sorry for all the loss that this area had.
