Thanks for all the comments! To answer some questions: 1) That is hail, and is of no relation to winter. It was the result of our first real thunderstorm of the year. 2) I live in Ballard, approx. 3 miles north of downtown. 3) Seattle is absolutely one the most wonderful places on earth. Who else has views of not 1, but 2 mountain ranges and a volcano? Not to mention the Puget Sound...
