Yes, I've been told that, myself. Never been a
skier! They ask me why I live here if I don't
ski. I love the mountains...I just don't want
to strap myself to a couple skinny pieces of wood
that have been waxed and then hurl myself down
at speeds I don't even like to hit in my car,
especially since speed would amplify the cold!
If I could start out being GOOD at it from the
first attempt, I may have tried, but I'd have
to put in my "Agony of Defeat" time...no thanks.:-)

thanks for stopping by and saying nice things Cynthia and Gil.

Your funny Kat! There is also a ski area up there, called Mt Rose. I am told it is a great place but I personally wouldn't know. Things haven't changed since I lived in Colorado when I was told it was UNAMERICAN to live in Colorado and not ski! Same Here!

Knowing your humor, I had to look on the map and
see if the name of this really was Mt. Rose or you
just called it that because of the lovely rose
color! It is indeed a rose colored Mt. Rose.
Very pretty shot, Duane!

Beautiful image Duane. Guess this was only the Primer coat. Don't know why the Guessers want to paint it white. It will look just as pretty or maybe even more when they put that white cap on it.
Makes it look more important.

Your both right Kristina and Heidrun - Snow is OK up there - that's 10,776 ft, which is about 6,231 above my driveway and about 10.5 miles as a crow flies. I won't need a shovel.
