For those who want to know what I photographed, it is ornamental kale. One of the few pretty 'flowers' that does not mind the cold and the snow.

ladyanne, the kale is now setting seeds. There are pretty little yellow flowers 'crowning' the kale. A second kind of beauty. Soon the kale plants (they are in pots by the front door) will be discarded and annuals will be planted in their places.
