Pearlington, MS is a small town along the Pearl river. It suffered significant flooding due to Hurricane Isaac's storm surge and flooding rains only 7 years after Katrina devastated the same area. This little town is truly a forgotten community.

Most of us cannot begin to understand the devastation a natural disaster has on a community. I have just made a donation to Portlight.org and hope that many others will do the same to help these people rebuild their lives.

I was privileged to be among the thousands from all over the world that came to help out in MS after hurricane Katrina so this is a well remembered scene. I cancelled a planned recreational trip to the NE and used my travel funds and a borrowed RV to stay 6 weeks and work in Gulfport.

This is reminiscent of Minot a year ago and many homes are still ruined and standing empty. It takes but hours to do the damage but years to come back. God bless. Arlene

We've been flooded and know how it feels. You see "flood-mud" the rest of your life.
