If you look very closely, you will see the clouds running in front of the moon and showing up like a shadow across the moon. You are right that the camera can't take a photo like this with a single photo, but it can by taking multiple photos and using HDR (High Dynamic Range) image treatment. That is now this kind of photo can be done. It's a matter that many cameras can't handle the wide range of intensity of light as well as our eyes or photographic film so the HDR method was developed to deal with this. What you see in this photo is exactly the way I saw the moon on the night of Dec. 15, 2013.

Are you just learning Photoshop or photo editing? Hint: The moon is outside Earth's atmosphere, hence, the clouds should be in front of the moon, not behind, LOL.

Besides, I have the same camera and there's no way this thing can take a picture like this (moon in front of the clouds. Plus, the moon is round.)
