It's one of my favorites also. And it all happened just by chance.

Hi minou, interesting point. I had not thought about that before. I couldn't use the flash, and I took this picture in the shadows. I had my camera set to Chrome 35mm Film response and for daylight setting so it made the picture a little more red. The actual color of the tree is more of a greenish brown. I got great reproduction of the colors of the birds which was dead on.

Once again a big thank you to everyone for all the compliments. I'm just blown away and amazed by all the attention. Because of this, I'm not looking at all my photos with a different eye. I'm seeing art work in many of my photos that I tended to ignore before. Guess I was more focused on informative photos than artwork.

Eileen, birds are a lot smarter than most people realize. I've been raising birds for over 40 years and have been witness to their amazing level of intelligence over and over many times.

What a perfect looking place for a nest though. Strong foundation with those big tree branches.
Congrats on the AC. I finally got another one last week after a few years without one.

Hey Kathy, I just noticed. The funny part is that it was just dumb luck that I got that particular shot. The momma Robin just flew in with food as I was getting ready to photograph the babies. Too bad I didn't catch her actually feeding the babies, but she was too fast for me.

Hey Don, congrats on your very first AC! Better frame it and hang it in your living room! (And it wasn't even a flower!)

Hi Kathy, I also got some photos of the Tulip's out front. You always say that I should take more flower pictures so after photographing the Robins nest today, I took a few of the Tulips also. I put one of them up on my Facebook page as my Avatar.

Robins tend to be like that -- they choose places to nest that are close to where people are, I suppose because they somehow know the danger from people is much less than the danger from predators which are more common in places where people aren't. Nice series, Don!

Thank you all for the compliments. I got lucky to find the Robins nest last month out front. The momma Robin has been very tolerant considering the number of people that walk by the nest every day. It was this tolerance that allowed me to get these great shots of the Robins nest.
