I like how you stopped the crashing wave action. There's a lot of power there. Say, those white shapes under the walkways - are they ice formations?

What is that skeletal looking wooden structure smashed against the end of the pier?

Ah, memories of my winter in Grand Rapids ('78-79) and why I came back to the west coast!
People who live in such climates are heartier souls than I! Stay warm and dry! Merry Christmas!

This is a GREAT shot, in depicting just a subtle
"Hint" of the power Lake Michigan and her sister
lakes can wield, particularly when winds build
from the north or northwest -- for the Michigan
and Indiana shoreline -- and north or northeast,
for the Illinois and Wisconsin shoreline.

You're not gazing at "Gale Forces" here, but I'd
guess a few hours later, the foam was bursting
over the higher railings on the "Storm Walkway".

Hopefully, by now, even the largest vessels are
safely waiting in harbors, for March to arrive.

Thanks to everybody so very much for all your kind comments!!! The frozen stuff on the end is scaffolding from repair work that was being done on the lighthouse. It does take a pounding!! I grew up on Lake Michigan, and have infinite respect for all her power, beauty, and many moods. THANKS AGAIN! :0) Judy
