Moon Flowers in Central Wisconsin

Uploaded by: LadyWriter

Monday October 10, 2011

Wisconsin Rapids, WI (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: With the cooler nights of last month, I had given up getting any moon flowers but now with our extended Indian summer and such warm weather, I'm getting all kinds of blossoms. Moon flowers are related to the morning glory species, but the difference is they open at sunset and shrivel up when the sun hits them. The blossoms get up to 6 inches across and they smell heavenly. This is a morning shot!
