 About FrozenGord:
I work in Prudhoe Bay (a.k.a. Deadhorse), AK, and live in Anchorage, AK. My job as a well logging engineer, puts me outside when the temps drop to -50 deg F and the wind chill is -70 deg F. It is not uncommon for Deadhorse Airport to record the coldest temps in the nation. Thousands of people choose to work in this environment 2 to 3 weeks at a time; having an equal amount of time back home for R & R. In "summer" the snow melts and everything in Prudhoe Bay turns a brilliant green (for about 1 month). Animals abound: caribou, musk ox, brown bears, polar bears, arctic fox, parka squirrel, geese, ducks, and loons. Summer temps can reach almost 80 deg F, making one question the possibility of an Arctic Ocean swim.
